New internet based company Julies Bookshop sells hard to find second hand books and has provided work opportunities for local people.
Derwentside Employment Team helped the Leadgate based Employer recruit 4 people in recent weeks to support their fast expanding business.
Lynne, Michael, Emma and Margaret all came to Derwentside Employment Team to access support to make a smooth and pain free return to work.
Emma said “When I was out of work I was very low, Derwentside Employment Team helped me build my confidence” she added “I love the job at Julies, everyone is easy to talk to and there is a real element of trust”
Julie and Russell Lockhart own and manage the business, “We can't express our gratitude enough to Derwentside Employment Team. As a new business just starting up in the area, finding suitable staff can be a real problem. We know this only to well from past experiences, and were doubtful that we would find any help on this occassion either. How wrong we were!”
Julie added “Within a few days of contacting the Derwentside Team, we had 3 candidates, all of which started with us on a weeks very successful work trial” Needless to say, they are all now gainfully employed and doing a great job.
